The concept for this lithograph print is questioning my Chinese-Canadian identity. Each half of the bok choy represents my identity split in half. The decision to use the vegetable as my subject is because of its great symbolism within Chinese culture—wealth and luck. I was also inspired by the bok choy sculptures made out of jade that I saw during my travels to China in 2011. Working from photographs I took, I challenged myself to get this amount of detail through the lithography process.
